The Cody Dieruf Benefit Foundation (CDBF) was fortunate enough to receive the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s (CFF) Impact Grant for two years. It is because of this grant that we were able to pioneer our Mother’s Retreat program.

Ginny Dieruf, the founder, said this about where the idea came from for the Mother’s retreat: When we started our Mothers Retreat, the idea came to me because I knew a retreat was something I needed as a mother of a child with cystic fibrosis (CF), but I never had the opportunity.  I called Piper with CFF to talk to her about it, & she thought a retreat would be very beneficial for moms with children with CF.  She encouraged me to apply for the Impact Grant.  Walking this journey with other mothers has helped me through my loss and gives me strength as we share our stories together as moms of children with chronic illness.

Over the past four years, we have gathered together amazing mothers who daily face the task of caring for their children who live with cystic fibrosis (CF). Our retreats have brought rest, comfort, & hope as these moms are taught about self-care & given tools for the journey they each face.

The We Walk Together Mothers Retreat is serving a vital need. We are so grateful to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for offering this grant for projects that support and engage the CF community.

The Impact Grant program provides grants of up to $10,000 per year to individuals or organizations for programs that support and empower people living with CF, their families, and loved ones. Do you have an idea for a project that could further encourage CF families or individuals living with CF? Perhaps an Impact Grant from CFF could get your project off the ground floor.

The 2021 Impact Grant application is open from Jan. 19 – April 5, 2021. Apply at cff.org/ImpactGrants
